Claims Manager

The Claims Manager position oversees the operations of their team of direct reports and indirect reports to be compliant and meet the standards of NCA’s best practices and NYS WC Law.

They will keep abreast of any changes to legislation and regulation pertaining to NYS WC and ensure the proper process and procedures are maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and engaging team leaders which includes coaching, motivating, delivering positive and constructive feedback.
  • Conducting direct report reviews, scheduling, managing paid time off, and other employee needs also responsible for overseeing and monitoring indirect report reviews to ensure it’s within the NCA best practices.
  • Be available to answer questions from direct and indirect reports on the most complex claims.
  • Review, develop and implement training within a team to ensure high performance and efficiency
  • Participate in team meetings with their staff to ensure consistent administration of policy and procedures.
  • Participate in regular meetings with management to ensure consistent administration of policy and procedures.
  • Work as a point of contact to effectively understand unique client needs and act as a liaison between the client and team leader, when necessary.
  • The claims manager also assists in planning, directing and coordinating with Team Leaders for their adjuster activities to ensure they are meeting NCAComp policy and procedures.
  • Ensure efficient operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or significant equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling direct reports in Workers’ Compensation
  • NYS Independent Adjuster License

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Normally, physical demands are typical of an office environment. 

     

     

     

 

Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000
